Ryan sensed a bit of exhaustion on his ship and let john's ship take the lead.

The Acheron slid lazily through the water as the crew members made repairs and lazed around in the sunshine. Some of them played dice as the crickets droned on.

Ryan's ships continued to chug through the river until day became night and the crew went to rest for the night.

Jorgan stood on the deck of his ship. Below some late night crew members were patching up the damage from the large cannon the best that they could. The loss of the two cannons had been a heavy blow to morale, and Jorgan hoped to replace them or get something better on this journey.

Ryan stopped the small fleet and ordered for a few longboats we sent out to scout up ahead as there were several curves in the river and they couldn't see further.
