After much effort, the German fortress was dismantled. Dmitri grabbed the valuable documents and the Russians evacuated. Once they were outside, Russian artillery shelled the fortress into oblivion. The Russians cheered.
Dmitri laid out the documents and perused them. "Proklinat'!" exclaimed Dmitri. He grabbed his PPSh and his pistol. "Nicholai, we must hurry! We need to head north to Denmark, where the Germans are launching their ships. These documents show the German plans. They have implanted a series of complex bombs all over Germany. Once the last German ship has sailed, the German flagship commander will activate the bombs, killing all of the people in Germany! Russians, Spanish, British, they don't care. They will blow us all up. The German flagship is called the Sieg. We must breach the ship, get to the bridge, kill the commander, and find the detonator. I will send a message to the general about what is happening."
Dmitri jumped onto a tank and explained the situation to the 200 Russians that were with them. They all were eager to help. Dmitri told them all to get ready.
"Nicholai, we only have one tank," said Dmitri. "We will not have artillery support, so we must be very careful not to let the German flagship see us, or its heavy guns could tear us apart. Now, let us go!"

The Russian force of 200 approached the docks without being sighted. It had been decided that Nicholai and Dmitri would lead 45 Russians to capture one of the less important ships, then distract the rest of the fleet by firing on the flag ship. While this was happening, the tank and other soldiers would fire on the flag ship and hopefully sink it.

As they were about to enact the plan, a gun on the flag ship fired and the Russian tank exploded. Suddenly explosions began going off all around the Russians. Dmitri cursed. He noticed a ramp leading into the lower decks of the flag ship. "Come, comrades!" he shouted, and ran for the ramp. It was about thirty yards, and Dmitri knew many would die on the run. But he focused on nothing but running, determined to ignore the firing guns.

The 150 Russians took cover behind the tank and buildings, trying to get out of sight of the guns on the ships. Meanwhile, Nicholai, Dmitri and the 45 soldiers sprinted for the boat. When they got there, only Nicholai, Dmitri and 15 soldiers were left.
"What do we do now?" asked a private.

"We finish this, comrade," said Dmitri, clapping the man on the back. The private just looked scared. "Alright, we need a plan," said Dmitri. They obviously don't know that some of us got through that crossfire, because they would have sent guards after us by now. So, two things must be done. Satchel charges must be planted in th engine room, and the admiral aboard this ship must die. I think that it is best to stay together because of our small numbers. Therefore, Nicholai, I will take 7 men and you take the other 6. To make up for the difference you can have an extra veteran. Now, we must kill the admiral first, before he decides to blow up Germany early."

On the bridge, Admiral Vittheim watched the guns firing down on the helpless Russians outside. He smiled satisfactorily, then turned away, content that the problem was dealt with.

As the group of Russians made their way through the ship towards the captains headquarters, Nicholai ordered two men to hit a few pipes out of place on the other side of the ship. This would distract any Germans who were not participating in the fight. As the two men left, Nicholai and the others waited in an empty room for the alarm to sound and have their path cleared for them.

Once the alarm had sounded, getting to the bridge was simple. Two guards had their backs turned, looking out of a porthole at the fighting outside. A second later, Dmitri and a Russian soldier strangled the careless guards with wires. Then they came to the bridge door. Dmitri slowly turned the door wheel, careful not to make noise. Then he eased the door open. A few engineers sat at their posts, listening to radios and looking at radars. Dmitri motioned and they all dropped as the Russians fired. At this point, the Germans knew that someone was on the ship. Dmitri knew he didn't have much time. Instead of unscrewing the door to the captain's quarters, Dmitri tossed a satchel charge onto the door and pushed down on the lever. The door exploded inward. The admiral dove to the left, so the wreckage of the door missed him by inches. However, as he attempted to draw his weapon, Dmitri gored him with a quick stab to the heart. Then Dmitri used the admiral's key to open his safe, which had the remote inside. "Now for the enging room," said Dmitri. "You lead the way this time, Nicholai."

As the ran down the hall towards the engine room, 4 Germans blocked their path and a crossfire occured. Nicholai threw 2 grenades into the room the Germans were in and the gunfight stopped. When they reached the engine room, it was simple to set the charges. Only a few engineers were in the room and they were easily dispatched of. Nicholai set the timer on the charges for 3 minutes, which should give them enough time to get off the boat before it blew. As they exited the room and began progressing down the hall, bullets began to whiz around them as the 10 Russians dropped to the ground. Nicholai kicked open the door into an empty kitchen as Dmitri and 4 other soldiers made it into the room. There was only one way out of the kitchen and they would have to go right through the hall where the Germans had a perfect shot at them. They had 2 minutes left to get off.

Dmitri pulled open a large panel on the wall, revealing a very narrow passage with a ladder leading up. "This is a hatch for the Germans to get to the ship's deck quickly, to man the guns. When we get up there, we will not have much time. There are still Germans on the deck firing the guns, so as soon as we climb onto the deck we will have to jump over the edge of the ship. It will be quite a plunge, but it beats dying by German hands." Dmitri threw the panel down and stepped onto the first ladder run. "Nichola, you follow behind me, and the rest of you men follow behind us." With that, Dmitri began climbing. He climbed as fast as he could, knowing that he had only a minute or two to climb up 3 floors.

When they finally reached the deck, a huge explosion was heard from the below and the entire ship leaned to the left. All the Russians and Germans fell into the sea where the remaining Russians were pouring heavy fire into in order to kill as many Germans as possible. Before he fell, Nicholai grabbed a pull and lashed out in time to grab Dmitri's arm before he slid into the ocean. "We need to get to the other side of the boat, we wont be spotted if we're on that side of the ocean" said Nicholai as the 2 began to climb up the deck.

Dmitri grabbed the now sideways platforms on the deck and continued to climb. Once he reached the top, he put one foot on the edge and sprung over into the ocean. Nicholai was right behind him. When they were in midair, the rest of the ship exploded in a burst of flames. Dmitri felt the heat through his fur coat. Then he hit the ice cold water. "We saved many lives today, comrade," he said to Nicholai. "British, Spanish, Italian. They all owe us a favor."

After they had rejoined the remaining Russian forces, Nicholai and Dmitri were summoned to the Major Generals headquarters in Berlin, without being told why.

The general summoned both men in at once. "Congratulations!" he said in a booming voice. "We have finally taken Berlin! Now, we all know that there are many German pigs yet to be killed, but have some vodka!" He poured drinks for all three.
"All right, then! Down to business," said the general. "Dmitri, you are promoted to Captain."
"Thank you, sir," said Dmitri.
The general inclined his head just a bit. "Remember, your ranks are not set in stone. At the end of this mess you may well lose a couple of the ranks I was forced to give you. Now, for your next mission-"
"Hold on, sir!" exclaimed Dmitri. "Forgive me, but what about Nicholai?"
"What about him?"
"Why have you not mentioned a promotion for him?" queried Dmitri.
"Well, at this time we are not promoting him. It is not because we don't think he deserves it," said the general, before Dmitri could protest. "It is because we are redeploying to two of you, and I don't want any confliction among the troops. However, we found a way around that. As your second in command, Nicholai will be allowed to disobey your 'orders' if need be. If you know what I mean," he added.
"Ah, I understand," said Dmitri. "My rank is simply to keep confusion from the ranks. Besides, Nicholai, I will talk about any decisions with you."
"And of course, by the end of this I'll make sure you are both the same rank," said the general. "Now, down to business. I am redeploying you both to the new western front. With Berlin gone, the Germans have set up defenses at Hanover. Hanover is a major point in our campaign. From Hanover we will be able to contact the British. This is your objective."
The general unrolled a massive picture on the desk. It was a huge fortress, gun emplacements on all sides, and German patrols walking around it. "This is the crux of the German defense," said the general. "When this falls, their resolve will be broken. It is your mission to bombard this thing off the face of the earth. You will have two divisions under your command, the 21st and the 30th. About 300 men total. However, the fortress is a long way away. You will first have to fight your way to the heart of Hanover. Good luck."

They arrived at their headquarters near Hanover at 1600 hours. The two forces were divided by a river with only 2 bridges available to cross "Sir, we have been exchanging crossfire and occasional artillery strikes with the Germans. Nothing serious has happened, but the men are eager for some real action."
Nicholai and Dmitri decided that it would be best to launch a night raid of 10 men to capture some prisoners and maps to find out more about the interior of the fortress. "We'll leave tonight at 2300 hours." concluded Nicholai as he debriefed the squad chosen for the mission.

Dmitri decided to stay back and command the artillery, giving Nicholai command of the raid. The Russian artillery was something Dmitri didn't want to lose, and so he decided to have an officer supervising at all times. "Good luck, comrade," he said to Nicholai.

The Russians had aquired several small boats with which to cross the river under cover of darkness. The Russians managed to cross without trouble and were soon crossing under the German barb wire "Don't forget, as soon as this whistle is blown, our men will begin firing across the river. Lets try to do this quickly." said Nicholai to his men before the entered the camp.

Dmitri had the artillery aimed at strategic parts of the German defenses. When Nicholai began the trip back across the river, th artillery would fire to cover his retreat.

The Russians approached the nearest building to the river unspotted. Nicholai peered in the window and saw 3 German officers playing cards while a corporal and sergeant stood by. Nicholai told his men to not shoot unless to protect their own lives, they wanted to capture the Germans alive and without alerting the rest of the town of their presence.
Nicholai then lead his men through the door and began yelling in German "Kommen Sie mit uns oder sterben!" There was chaos until one of Nicholai's men hit an officer with the butt of his rifle until he stopped moving when he tried to draw his pistol. After this, the Russians escorted the Germans halfway to the river and were only 35 yards away when a guard yelled "Russische's im Lager!" after this the Russians began sprinting while German bullets covered the ground around them. When this happened, Nicholai began to blow the whistle as loud as possible while dragging the German sergeant along with him.

Dmitri gave a command and the artillery fired a devastating barrage at the German emplacements. This threw most of the German defenses into disarray, but some recovered quickly. Of the three boats that Nicholai had taken, two of the boats exploded into fragments. However, Nicholai's boat and the German prisoner remained untouched. Dmitri quickly silenced any enemy guns that aimed for Nicholai's boat. When the boat landed, Dmitri grabbed a Mosin Nagant and turned to head to the shore.
"Sir, you must not put yourself in harm's way," said a Russian guard beside the door of Dmitri's bunker.
"Stand down," said Dmitri. "I will aid the soldiers who are disembarking with Nicholai." He ran outside and ran towards the shore. 20 yards away he was forced to hunker down behind cover, as German sniper shots landed all around. Nicholai, a Russian soldier, and the German prisoner were alive, but they were pinned down inside the small boat.
"Hang on, comrade!" yelled Dmitri. "We will get some cover fire on those enemy snipers, and you will have 10 seconds to get inside a bunker!"

As the Russian fire sounded, Nicholai shoved the German forward while the other soldier sprinted to the safety of the bunker. Nicholai heard a screaming mimi approaching and dove into the bunker with the German as an explosion occured where they had just been standing. As the dust settled, Nicholai looked up at Dmitri and said "Well that was fun."

"Haha, another job well done, my friend," said Dmitri, pulling Nicholai to his feet. "Now we must settle in for the long siege." Dmitri turned to an officer and told the man to oversee the artillery. The officer nodded and jogged out of the bunker.
Dmitri handed Nicholai a Mosin Nagant rifle with an attached scope. "Comrade, it is our happy job to take down the German scum they call officers. Aim for the most important targets you can see. And if one of those idiots has a flamethrower tank on his back, shoot it and kill everyone around him."
Dmitri looked down the scope and took the face off of a German who was spotting for the German artillery. "Haha, this will be quite a victory," said Dmitri.

AN Elite squad of soldier arrives in russia, and applies for jobs as mercinaries.

A general called for the leader of the mercenary squad. "I would like to hire you to sabotage the last of the German navy. Move in and set charges in the three battleships' engine rooms, then detonate them. That will be the final blow for the Germans."

Dmitri threw down his empty scoped Mosin Nagant. The Germans resolutely held their ground, but Dmitri knew that soon he would be able to send men to attack the enemy shore at close range.

Richard finished mopping up the squad of Germans that broke of from the main group and headed to the Russian lines and told his troops to form up in the trenches as he made his way to the commanding officers quarters.

Dmitri signalled to a private named Raskolnikov to lead some men in a charge. The disheartened and weakened Germans fired a few measly shots, but the Russians were soon upon them with few casualties.
